4 Piece Silver Plate Tea Service C 1960 John Sanderson Sheffield A1 EPNS
This is a five piece tea service as it has the matching tray by John Sanderson of Sheffield. All in excellent condition. A further internal TLC may be an advantage however it is clearly clean enough to use. The tray measures 30 cm diameter and stamped JSS A1 EPNS to base. Minor scratches commensurate with age Nothing that detracts from use or appearance. The rim is 2 cm high. The tea pot measures 17.5 cm long from handle end. It has an internal tea strainer for the spout. The base is 11 cm diameter and the tea pot is 14.5 cm high to the finial or knop handle. The capacity is 1.5 pints and it weighs 743 g. The coffee pot or hot water jug is 17.5 cm high to the finial or knop handl and is 16 cm long. The base is 9.5 cm diameter and the lid is 8 cm diameter. It weighs 706 g and has capacity of 1.3 pints. The milk jug is of length 11.5 cm long and 9.4 cm high. Base diameter is 7 cm. Top diameter is 6 cm. It weighs 261 g and has a capacity of 0.5 pint. The cream jug is of capacity 0.25 pint and is 6.2 cm high. It is 9.5 cm long and base diameter of 5.7 cm. Top diameter is4.8 cm and it weighs 129 g. Apart from a very small ding on the bottom of the tea plot there are no impediments and it is a terrific looking set. All pour beautifully with no dripping. Each handle has a flattened top for your thumb. Beautiful understated quality tea service looking for a quality new home that appreciates fine living.
